Cancun Taxi:

In Cancun there are all over the place Taxis. Taxis in Cancun are one of the fastest transportation methods. When you take a taxi, please remember the number of the Taxi before you get in in case you forget something, you can call the taxi company and they have to bring it back to you The Radio Taxi Number is: 840-0651 . Before you enter a Taxi, ask how much he is going to charge. Taxis here in Cancun do not have a counter here are some Rates: Downtown area; $17 to $ 25 Pesos, Downtown to Airport; $188 to $ 220, Hotel Zone to Airport; $188 to $220. You should always ask the concierge at your hotel how much the rates are, they now very well about the Taxi Rates in Cancun.

 

Cancun Buses:

There all over buses that you can take, the prices are very reasonable; $6.50 Pesos wherever you want to go. There is buses in the Hotel Zone that are going Downtown and back. Most of the bus stations are infront of your hotel or at least very close.

The Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) is here to help people that have problems with any purchasing items in a store, if you think that they misused you or the price. Any serious complaint can be brought up to the attention of Cosumer Protection Agency.

 

Gratuities:

Gratuities are very common in Cancun and are substantial for a Mexican to have a better live then usual. An example, a daily income of a waiter is $50 Pesos, which is about 4 Dollar. Gratuities are in between 10% and 20% depending how good the service was.  Bellboys at the hotel can get about 1 to 2 Dollar per bag, the same at the airport.
